Shop Server · reservations open
Your shop system, in your building, owned outright.
All of Traveler on a silent, fanless box that sits on your network. $4,250 one-time. It works with the internet unplugged and keeps working forever, even if you never pay us another dollar.
Pre-launch: the Shop Server ships after Traveler Cloud. Reserving is free, with no deposit.
Fanless · silent · runs with the WAN cable unplugged
How it works
Plug in power and ethernet
The box arrives preloaded. Set it on a shelf in the office, plug it into the wall and into your network switch. No fans, no server closet, no IT project.
Scan the QR code on the lid
Your phone finds the box on your network and walks you through creating the owner account. A few minutes, no installer, no remote session.
The shop is on
Office PCs open it in a browser, floor kiosks scan travelers, and the schedule board goes on the TV. All of it runs over your own LAN.
Two builds. Pay once.
Both run the same software as Traveler Cloud with unlimited users. The optional continuity plan covers signed updates after the first year, encrypted off-site backup, phone access away from the shop, and support.

The ownership pledge
If you bought it, it's yours.
The box keeps working forever
Stop paying for the continuity plan, or never start it, and nothing turns off. No license timer, no read-only mode, no hostage screen. You bought it; it runs.
Your data export is always one click
Every job, quote, traveler, cert and time entry exports in open formats from the box itself, with or without a plan, with or without us.
No forced cloud migration
We will never sunset the on-prem edition to push you onto a subscription. If you ever want to move to Cloud, that's your call, on your schedule.
Who it's for
Defense and ITAR subcontractors
DFARS 252.204-7012, NIST SP 800-171 and SPRS scores apply to your contracts right now. Any cloud service that stores covered defense information has to meet FedRAMP Moderate equivalency, and a SOC 2 report doesn't qualify. A box you own on your own network isn't an external cloud provider at all. It is part of your CUI scope, which is why the Defense build is designed around 800-171 controls.

On-prem shops being pushed to the cloud
Epicor has set Kinetic's final on-prem release for around January 2028, with active support ending December 31, 2029, and new development is cloud-only. JobBOSS² is cloud-first, and its on-prem option is positioned for businesses unable to move. If you chose on-prem on purpose, you can stay on-prem.
Owners who won't rent their software
SaaS prices rose 12.3% year over year in 2025, and most IT leaders report renewal hikes. Even "lifetime" deals move: one well-known lifetime pass went from $119.99 to $749.99 between early 2025 and mid-2026. A box you paid for doesn't get repriced.
Shops with unreliable internet
If the line goes down, the floor keeps scanning, the office keeps quoting and travelers keep printing, because nothing ever needed to leave the building.
Security design, stated plainly
These are the design targets for launch. We'll publish the NIST SP 800-171 control mapping once each feature is real and testable, not before.
- LAN-only mode
- The box can run with no internet connection at all. Outbound traffic, when you allow it, is limited to license check-in, optional updates and backups, and QuickBooks Online sync.
- Encryption at rest
- Disk encryption tied to the box's TPM. The Defense build is designed around FIPS-validated cryptographic modules in a hardened configuration.
- MFA and audit logs
- Designed for multi-factor sign-in on every account and an audit log of who viewed, changed or exported records.
- Backup keys you hold
- The Defense build ships an encrypted USB backup drive. You hold the keys; we never do.
- Remote support only when you say so
- No standing vendor access. Support sessions are opened by you, one at a time, and on the Defense build are handled by US persons only. Vendor remote access can pull a vendor into your scope as a service provider, so we designed it to be off by default.

Shop Server questions
▸Is the Shop Server CMMC compliant or ITAR compliant?
No software or hardware is CMMC certified or ITAR compliant on its own. Compliance belongs to your shop: your policies, people, facility and System Security Plan. What the Shop Server does is keep CUI and ITAR technical data off third-party clouds, and the Defense build is designed to support NIST SP 800-171 controls, with a control mapping and SSP template excerpt to help with your self-assessment.
▸CMMC Phase 2 was suspended. Does any of this still matter?
Yes. The DoD suspended CMMC Phase 2 assessment requirements on July 13, 2026 pending review, but DFARS 252.204-7012, NIST SP 800-171 and SPRS self-assessment scores still apply wherever they are in your contracts, along with False Claims Act exposure for misrepresenting them.
▸Does ITAR ban cloud software?
No. ITAR doesn't ban cloud storage, and 22 CFR 120.54 carves out end-to-end encrypted technical data where the provider holds no keys. Foreign-person access is still an export, though. Keeping drawings on a box in your building removes the question instead of managing it.
▸What happens if I stop paying the continuity plan?
Nothing turns off. The box keeps running everything, forever. You stop getting new updates, off-site backups, phone access away from the shop and support until you resume, and your data export keeps working either way.
▸When does it ship?
The Shop Server ships after Traveler Cloud launches. Reserving is free with no deposit. Reservations are first in line, and nothing is charged until you confirm an order.
▸Is it the same software as Traveler Cloud?
Yes. Same quoting, travelers, floor tracking, traceability and compliance suite, with unlimited users. The only difference is where it runs.
▸Who maintains the box?
It's designed to need almost nothing: fanless, solid-state, and updated with signed packages you approve. Many defense shops already have an MSP, and we publish a spec sheet and install notes written for them.
