Tired of retyping travelers?

Traveler is being built to generate this sheet straight from the quote's routing — a QR code per op for floor scanning, the heat lot on the header, and repeat jobs cloned from the last run. It's pre-launch; leave an email and we'll let you know when early access opens.

Job traveler FAQ

▸What goes on a machine shop job traveler?

The header carries the job number, customer and PO, part number and revision, quantity, due date, and material with its heat/lot number and cert requirement. The body is the routing: numbered ops (10, 20, 30…) with work center, description, setup and run estimates, and sign-off columns for qty in, qty good, scrap, date, and initials. The footer closes it out with final inspection, qty shipped, and the C of C reference.

▸Why are ops numbered 10, 20, 30 instead of 1, 2, 3?

Gaps leave room to insert a step later — a deburr or an outside-process op becomes op 25 without renumbering everything after it, so the op numbers on old travelers, inspection records, and setup notes still line up.

▸Is this traveler template saved anywhere?

Only in your own browser. The template runs entirely on this page and keeps your last traveler in local storage so a refresh doesn't lose it. Nothing is uploaded — print it or save it as a PDF to keep a copy.

▸Does a shop traveler satisfy AS9100 traceability?

The standard requires production control and traceability, not a specific document, but in practice the traveler is how machine shops evidence both. Fill in the heat/lot line, sign every op, and keep the completed traveler with the job's certs and inspection records.
